Writing Wednesday–New Covers, Book release and more!

Published February 29, 2012 by Sandra Sookoo

My goodness this week has flown by, and today is Leap Day to boot! An extra day in February. That’s good because I need it :-)

I have so much to share with you!

Yesterday, my long awaited action-packed sci-fi romance released from Samhain Publishing. It’s called Ricochet. You can also buy it at Barnes and Noble, Amazon and All Romance e-books. Here’s the blurb:

They’re in it to win it—or die trying.

Willa Rayes, only daughter of a legendary Lingorian fighter pilot, can fly any ship in the galaxy. Better than her brothers, in fact. But does that get her any respect? Not as long as she has breasts. Winning the Nebulon Trike will not only force her family to notice her, it’ll be her declaration of independence from men in general.

Then she meets her race partner, Stratton Sinnet. Arrogant and chauvinistic, he ignites her libido like no man ever before. And threatens to send her well-planned strategy straight to hell.
A bounty hunter by trade, Sin enters the Trike for one reason: money. Somewhere among the racers his quarry is hiding, but he’s not worried. He always gets his man, and winning the race will be a nice bonus. It sure would be a hell of a lot easier, though, if he wasn’t saddled with a know-it-all navigator who’s getting on his last nerve—and under his skin.

As the checkpoints go by and the danger escalates, the fight for control, the lead—and satisfaction—approaches supernova heat. Burning away their resistance, and the tough shells that protect their one vulnerability…their hearts.

Warning: This story contains a hot, bald bounty hunter whose sex appeal rivals his cockiness; a smart-mouthed pilot who refuses to let a mere male beat her in anything; and love scenes that’ll make you’ll think a star exploded. Dramamine recommended to counteract the effects of fancy flying.

I’m in the middle of a blog tour with Goddess Fish Promotions. Drop by each blog for a chance to win.

Also, I got a wickedly awesome cover for an upcoming fairy tale remake called Come Hither. It’s my modern day take on Red Riding Hood and will release from Liquid Silver Books in April.

Here’s the blurb: Heroes don’t wear capes and heroines sometimes have fur. This ain’t your grandma’s fairytale.

Riley Hanson has fate by the balls. She’s a kick-ass wolf-shifter who’s not afraid to tell people off, especially if they try to suggest how to live her life. She lives with her grandma in the Wisconsin woods, hoping to keep the worst of humanity away.

Carson Hoode, the guy every woman wants to talk to but not date, drives a truck for Red Riders Express. Six months off a divorce, the only thing he’s got going for him is a perfect delivery record, except a heavy October downpour and a muddy road threaten it. As he tries to finish his route on foot, he slips and wrenches his knee. The business end of Riley’s rifle closes out his day.

The fur and pheromones fly as Riley and Carson battle their attraction while eluding a back woods hunter intent on bagging more than local wildlife. They’ll need a healthy dose of fairytale magic to survive—too bad there’s no such thing. Now, if only Grandma would give them some privacy because someone’s getting laid at the end.

And lastly, I’m so excited to announce that my Holiday Magic series will now be in one print anthology, releasing at the end of March. I’ve gotten the proof copy back and have reviewed it. My husband made a wonderful cover for this book which I think fits really well. You’re the first to see a glimpse of that cover!

I do have other news but that will have to wait until next week! Until then, have a wonderful day!

  • Love the new cover for Casting Love & Magic! So awesome! I haven’t read any of that series yet, so I’ll be first in line to buy when this comes out! Will it be a digit anthology as well, or only print? Either way, I’ll buy!

    • Heather, all the Holiday Magic books (six in all) are available in digital format through Lyrical Press (www.lyricalpress.com) They’re also on Amazon, Fictionwise and All Romance ebooks :-) Thanks so much!
