And I’m participating in this wonderful event!
From December 17th through December 21st, author Tory Richard and 11 other authors (me included) are all offering up holiday books as a grand prize giveaway. Yes, that’s right, some lucky commenter will win TWELVE new books plus a food item from the Swiss Colony donated by Tory herself!
Here’s the blurb for the book I’ve donated. It’s called DISENCHANTED CHRISTMAS.
Christmas in 1899 starts as a joyless affair. Bethany Cundiff has hit a rough patch of life. While caring for her young niece and nephew, she’s evicted from her residence and fired from her job ten days before Christmas. To make matters worse, a gentleman who desires her company for the holiday, and has the money to back up the promise, propositions her for sex.
Blake Wenchal is a disenchanted elf that’s been banished from the Northern Realm and Santa’s court because he’s lost the spirit of compassion and charity. Lonely from years spent by himself, he’s thrown off balance when Bethany accepts his ill-advised offer of paid bed mate—except she arrives on his doorstep with children in tow.
Neither one counted on the power of love, acceptance and the miracle of family to make the holiday unforgettable.
Now, let’s talk. I know I’m a sucker for writing Christmas-themed stories. It seems every time I tell myself I won’t do it, I end up writing a couple every year. I can’t help it. There’s something special that gives off the warm fuzzies of reading a love story set at or around Christmastime. It’s got magic and hope. It makes everything even more possible with a few miracles thrown in.
What about you? Why do you love holiday romances?
And because I love my readers so much, I’m throwing in my own little giveaway here for this post. I’m giving away a five dollar Starbucks gift card plus a free download of a backlisted books (2012 titles NOT included) So you can have a warm drink and a good read on me! Please remember to leave your contact information.
Note: Winners will be randomly drawn on December 22nd and the winners notified by email. Grand prize winner will be announced on Tory Richards’ blog on December 24th.

I love holiday romances because even the cynical, once burned twice shy heros and heroines seem to be more willing to take a chance that things will finally work out for them at Christmas time.
I love holiday romances because they make the holidays feel more magical!

I like seasonally themed book but I don’t necessarily save them to read during the season. As an example, I received an ARC copy of His Mistletoe Bride by Vanessa Kelly as a contest prize several months ago. When it arrived, I had to read it right away…this must have been October!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway. You are wonderful. I love holiday romances.
I ♥ holiday romances!!! I actually just read A Galactic Holiday last week which I highly recommend to scifi romance fans in the mood for a fun holiday themed read. I didn’t think you could do a Christmas scifi anthology and make it feel organic but the 3 authors did it with flair! Loved it.

I love holiday romances because of how they make you feel loved. The excitement of the emotions during this time of year. Who doesn’t want to feel loved and special. You put yourself in the characters place and feel what they are feeling.

love holiday romances because you are guaranteed a happy ending!
I love the holidays because people are a little nicer and smile a little easier.
I love romances at whatever time however, holiday romances seem to be written by the authors with more love and heatfelt emotions that depict the spirit of the season. There seems to be more of a determined deliberate goal toward the HEA. I love to read about the journey both characters take to find true and lasting love.
I watch a lot of the made for tv Christmas movies and become enthralled in the storyline, and feel so emotional when the characters finally realize they care for each other. Throw in a kid and I’m lost.
. I love the holidays because it’s a wonderful time of the year!
Thanks for the opportunity! Best wishes to you and your family during the holidays!

I love holiday romances because they always seem to have an extra bit of magic in them, especially when the cynical Christmas hater hero/heroine discovers they do still believe in Christmas magic.

I don’t really read holiday romances, but I suppose it would because the Christmas holidays are a time of family gathering. It’s a happy time, with the kissing under the mistletoe, never know who you might fall in love with.
Thanks for the giveaway,

i love holiday romances because to me christmas is magical. and anything can happen. anyone who’s ever seen the eyes of a little one after visiting santa, or baking cookies, or receiving that one special present has to believe in the magic. Love having little ones around just for that purpose.
The holiday adds a bit more drama and suspense and finding out how the characters delve into dealing with stress and expectations gives me added insight into their characters.

I love Christmas romances because it gives hope that romance is still alive. This time of year everyone should have a special someone to keep them warm on a cold night and to spend the holidays with. Holidays can be very depressing and it makes things better if you have a special someone, Christmas romances give that special glimmer if hope.
I love holiday romances because they make everything magical and seem possible.

I cannot tell a lie, I just recently read my first Holiday Romance. *bows head*. but I can say it will not be my last. Who knew how much fun it would be.
torialainn@gmail.com
Holiday romances always give me the warm fuzzier. Most of the holiday romances are seem like they are impossible situations but it always works out in the end and usually there is a happy love story. I’m a sucker for all love stories. And to top it off so many Christmas books get made into movies so that makes them extra special. The movies never quite live up to the book but they are still fun to watch.
