So, I thought I’d try something different on Wednesdays, something fun. Today, I’m talking about the dirty little secret all women have–the fact your purse is a hoarder.
That’s right. I suspect women are hauling around stuff we don’t really need but can’t live without, right?
Case in point. Here’s a picture of the contents of my purse:
I have the standard wallet, makeup bag, hand sanitizer, pen eyeglass case, sunglasses, pain killers, lotion, business cards and in my case, a small writing notebook.
But here’s my dirty little secret–I’m addicted to lip gloss, lip stick and anything you pretty much put on the lips. even my niece mentioned it was excessive.
Here’s a picture of all the lip stuff within my makeup bag (the sad thing? I have many, many other tubes of the stuff in the bathroom)
I can’t help it. A girl just never knows when she’ll need a different color of gloss, right?
So, now that my secret is out, what’s yours?
Not only is my purse a hoarder, I HOARD PURSES!!! my hubby always says, “ANOTHER purse??” LOL can’t help myself!! and they ALL hoard stuff.
I don’t hoard purses. I can’t justify spending money on them and can never find ones I like anyway
I am not a purse hoarder. No room. And despite my best efforts to keep my purse sparkling clean, just yesterday I dumped a ton of receipts out of it. I should also admit that even though I don’t wear makeup, the bottom of the purse does hold lip liner, lip gloss and lip stick. I know it’s there. I know I don’t use it. But there it still sits.

But I understand purses that are hoarding stuff (as opposed to purse hoarders). Some of the junk in my purse is handed to me by my DH, saying, “I’ll let the boss hold this.”

I have the same problem! My husband is constantly handing me stuff to hold.
At Christmas I downgraded my purse to force myself to carry less.
I went from a big ‘catch all’ sack to a cute, brown leather, compartmentalized bag. No wallet, even. There’s a section of the purse to hold my money, cards, etc. But I HAVE had way too much in the past.
I don’t carry a lot of lipgloss, but I do carry a lot of lip balm. Kind of close. My husband says I’m an addict. I have lip balm everywhere so I’m never without. Three tubes at my home desk, two in the drawer beside the bed, one at my day job desk, several in my purse. Every flavor imaginable. Right now I have Orange Cream Burst and Chocolate Rush in my purse. I have a vanilla mint in my bedside table (Love this one, but it was a freebie at RT last year so I have no idea where I can get more!), and green apple at my desk.
Bit off topic there… went away from the purse.
Oh, the lip balms around the house. Yup, I have ‘em everywhere too. Lips have to be moisturized!
Sandra your post reminds me of when I emptied out my whole purse and showed the contents of it! Here’s where I dumped mine out, except that I just realized that I didn’t open my cosmetic bag in it. I confess to having about six pens, and nearly every single scrap of paper (envelopes, church bulletins, Christmas/birthday cards) collected while not at home. I really need to clean it out!!
Shhh I hoard cat purses. LOL. My son always shakes his head when I find another one. LOL. I am always shoving stuff in my purse when I go somewhere. Kind of depends where I am going. If it’s a day long trip my Kindle and snacks. Or grocery store. Coupons, calculator, list, and ads.

My purse is totally a hoarder and like your mine hoards lip sticks and glosses. About 8 of them and that doesn’t include the Chapstick or lip balm that is also in there. I think I might have to take my purse to hoarders anonymous. Lol
