So, as you know, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. According to all the commercials as well as the pink and red decorations in every store you go to, it’s a day to tell your significant other that you love them.
As if you’ve somehow forgotten throughout the rest of the year.
As if you’re incapable of saying “I love you” all the other days of the year.
Yeah, I have a bit of a grumble when it comes to Valentine’s Day–and don’t get me started on Hallmark’s baby, Sweetest’s Day. *eye roll*
Anyway, back to love and affection. Sorry card and chocolate companies, but my husband and I show and tell our love through the year and sometimes in dorky, goofy ways.
Case in point: yesterday, I bought my man a new body wash scent he’d been hinting about that he liked. Apparently, Old Spice has just released a new “Wild” line depicting “sexy” animals: wolves, hawks, foxes, etc. So, when I saw one at Walmart yesterday, I got it for him. You’d have thought I brought home the moon he was so excited lol
And just last weekend, my hubby cleaned the bathrooms for me. I hate that job. The shower stall is a trial to clean and impossible to rinse without getting yourself soaked. That little act completely made him the most awesome of all heroes.
Those are just two examples. Sometimes he’ll load the dishwasher for me or unload the dryer without being asked or bring me home an interesting ball point pen from a conference he thinks I’ll like. Sometimes I’ll cook his favorite meal… even though we just had the same dinner the week before. He’ll watch chick flicks with me without complaint sometimes. I bite the bullet and play Halo with him every once in a while–even though I die 10 seconds into the game LOL
Love doesn’t mean buying flowers or candy on a specific day. Love means having fun with your very favorite person and doing the little things because you know it’ll make them smile.
Do you have a little “love moment” that makes you chuckle? Feel free to share!

hubby and i don’t get each other gifts for valentines day… it is more of a “date night without kids.” He does help so much around the house especially with our boys and dishes.(hate dishes one of these days i will get a dishwasher lol) but i have to say the funniest love moment happened this morning… So was giving our 3 year old a bath and hubby got his hand wet and then grabbed my boob leaving a wet hand mark… I was like really… He goes i didn’t do it the boob grabbing ghost did… Then my three year old yells… No ghosts No Zombies… we have a rule between the 9 & 3 year old no Ghosts No Zombies as the three year old bites and the 9 year old scares the 3 year old so bad he won’t sleep lol.
Ha, can he give my husband lessons? I would love it he would the little things for me.

Aww I love that! And yes, I agree that Sweetest Day is the dumbest of all “holidays.” I thought it was purely a midwest thing, until I visited with my parents Sweetest Day weekend and saw displays for it at our Walmart. I live in SE Kentucky. I was appalled.
Really enjoyed your post. Really awesome that you and hubby show or tell your love for each other all through the year. Hey can I borrow him to clean my bathrooms? ROFL.
