Today, Linda Joyce joins me for a Tuesday teaser and cocktail.
It’s five o’clock somewhere…in the Bayou
Many thanks to Sandra. I appreciate this time to share with her and her readers.
There’s nothing more relaxing than kicking back with a good book and a cocktail in hand. Before we settle in, we need to gather the ingredients to ensure a tranquil time.
First the book: My debut novel, Bayou Born, is available at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Born-Fleur-Lis-ebook/dp/B00B9L1VAC/ref=sr_1_9?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360022464&sr=1-9&keywords=bayou+born
The print release will be on April 12th through The Wild Rose Press http://www.thewildrosepress.com, and also Amazon.
Here’s a sneak peek at Bayou Born ~
Branna Lind’s self-esteem rests at the bottom of the Mississippi River. She canceled her “wedding of the decade,” though she isn’t saying why. She wants life on her own terms: no ready-made job in the family business, no safety net of close-knit kin, and no more betrayal.
College professor James Newbern prizes his bachelorhood. Experience has taught him beautiful women are high-maintenance trouble and Branna fits that type. He is happy to avoid her until the college vice president assigns him to mentor the newest hire—Branna.
Branna is on her way to a new life, but will the scars of the past send her running from love? If she doesn’t, will she convince James that she truly is his “type”?
You know what James seems to think of Branna, but if you’re a tad curios about what “type” I am, I hope you’ll stop by and see at my website: http://www.linda-joyce.com I hope you’ll share about what’s going on with you.

Now, we’re ready for cocktails. My favorite is a Bloody Mary. The BEST one I’ve very had was at the Miramar Beach Restaurant in Half Moon Bay, CA. Sadly, their in-house recipe is a closely guarded secret.
Here’s how I make mine~
6 oz Clamato Juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2-3 dashes hot sauce (I prefer Crystal Sauce for flavor.)
1 tsp of fresh horseradish (Add at your own risk.)
1/8 fresh lemon
1/8 fresh lime
1 shot of good quality Vodka
celery stick
An olive
Shake Juice, Worcestershire, hot sauce, lemon juiced, and vodka together.
Pour over cracked ice in tall glass. Twist remaining 1/8 lime over drink. Stir with celery.
Cheers!
Linda Joyce

I’ll be checking in throughout the day. I hope you’ll take a peek at Bayou Born, and then share with Sandra and me what book you’re reading and what’s your sipping pleasure.
Smiles,
Linda Joyce
I’ve been behind in my books I want to read. I can’t wait to check Bayou Born out. Here I go!
Miss G. Aliceson,

Reblogged this on Linda Joyce Contemplates and commented:
Come on over! Join me. Let’s chat about books and mix a cocktail. It’s never too early for a mock-tail…and that counts as a mixed beverage.
I LOVE Bloody Mary’s!! The spicier the better! I’ve never made it with clamato though – but it sounds delicious!
Ever have a bloody beer? Same concept – only with beer instead of vodka & Worcestershire sauce.
Pamela,
Have not tried the Bloody Beer. Am putting it on my list. Is there a particular beer that goes better? Light, dark, pale or stout?

Gina,
Hi! So glad you could stop by. What’s your favorite cocktail? What can I mix for you as we read? I already finished your book, The Storm After, and made a note of it on Goodreads.

Book’s awesome, Bloody Mary at Miramar Beach Restaurant (a former speakeasy with a spicy history) is awesome and so is your Bloody Mary recipe! Three home runs in one short Blog!
Thank you, darlin’.

LInda,
Thanks for the note on Goodreads. And I’ll take what you’re drinking.

Just downloaded the book onto my Kindle. I’m looking forward to reading it and I will try to read it next week. This week I am reading “Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker” by Jennifer Chiaverini. A Bloody Mary sounds yummy this morning. ; )
GiGi Ann,
First of all, what a cool name! Thank you so much for buying my book. I hope you’ll let me know how you like it. I’d love to hear from you.
